RICHARD ROBBINS SCULPTURE (3)

£900.00

Richard Robbins (1927-2009) was a prolific post-war painter and sculptor, the only son of Lord Robbins, the esteemed author of the Report on Higher Education. Following a brief period of service in the Army, Robbins pursued his artistic aspirations, first at Oxford and then refining his craft at prestigious institutions such as Goldsmith’s, Ruskin, and Slade Schools of Art.

In 1952, Robbins embarked on a fulfilling teaching career, imparting his knowledge and passion for art to future generations. His teaching journey led him to notable institutions like Camberwell and Hornsey Schools of Art, where his dedication culminated in his appointment as Head of Painting (1984–90) and the prestigious title of Honorary Professor at Middlesex University.

Robbins' exceptional contributions to the art world were further recognized when he was elected as an honorary member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 2004.

We are privileged to present three of his remarkable sculptures for sale. These pieces, crafted by Robbins himself, exude a captivating charm and serve as a testament to his technical prowess and artistic mastery. Each sculpture is imbued with rich character, offering collectors an opportunity to own a piece of Robbins' enduring legacy.
